Primary 3/4 Update

This term our topic is 'The Romans' and we have enjoyed finding out about life in the past. We are currently making Roman Shields with symmetricak designs.

This term we have also been working with Mrs McRitchie on feelings. We have five faces on the wall and use them to help us express how we feel. Bit by bit we are developing the language of coping strategies which helps us to become confident individuals and responsible citizens. The Angry Bird posters remind us to use a variety of cool down strategies when we feel annoyed.

Primary 5/6 and Primary 7 Enterprising Activities!

Primary 5/6 and Primary 7 recently held an Enterprise Day in school. The two classes spent the day working cooperartively setting up companies to make and sell items with a Scottish theme.

They all worked very hard and had a great day - while learning all about the different roles in setting up a business and producing products to sell to the buyers!

This will stand the Primary 6 pupils in good stead for the upcoming Enterprise Event at Mintlaw Academy for all Primary 6 pupils in the cluster.

PLayground Bench Gift!

We were delighted this week to take delivery of a new bench that has been made for our playground. The bench has been made by pupils from  Mintlaw Academy as part of their studies and they have made a bench for every school in the Mintlaw Cluster.

The bench has an inscription burned into the top which says......'If you can dream it you can achieve it!'
This is something we should all remember as we try to do the best we can.

We would like to thank the Academy for this generous gift and we look forward to getting it put out in to the playground when the weather improves.
