Our 'annual' coffee event was held last week in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Charity. We held our FIFTH 'World's Biggest Coffee Afternoon' and this year three classes were involved in the planning, organisation and running of the event. Pupils from Pr 4/5, Pr 5/6 and Pr7 worked hard to produce home bakes for the event and organised a wide range of fund raising ideas to help prize money out of all the visitors who came along to support us.
A huge WELL DONE should go to the pupils, staff and parents who helped organise and run the event. It was a huge amount of work but very worthwhile. The children learn a lot from doing this and their helpers ensured that it all ran smoothly.
They raised an amazing £912 which is wonderful. Over the five events they have run they have raised over £4000 for the charity. A special thank youshould go to Mrs Veitch who started it off originally and plays a huge part in running the event.
Well done to everyone.
