Strichen School held a special assembly to celebrate St Andrew's Day on Friday 30th November. Pupils from all classes took part and entertained the audience with something that represents Scotland. The assembly started off with a short animated film about how Andrew became Scotland's Patron Saint. You can see this animatino by clicking on the link below.

After the pupils had watched the video each class took their turn to entertain us.
Primary 1/2 sang a song for us which was excellent!
Primary 3 sang us a song about 'Tattie Soup' which was very amusing and then a group of 8 pupils came out an did a Boston Two Step for us. The dancing was excellent!
Primary 4/5 were next. Amelia entertained us with a poem she had written about vegetables! The a group of girls did a Highland Fling which was ecxcellent! The dancers were Ruth, Alissa, Meira, Amelia and Elisa.
Primary 6 pupils then took their tunr. Anya volunteered to play the violin and gave agreat rendition of Auld Lang Syne. Stephanie and Kimberley then recited a Scots poem.
Primary 7 were the last to take part. A number of pupils also recited a variety of Scots poems. The pupils were Michael, Craig, Nathan, Jack, Cameron, Lucy, Jazmine and Beth. After this Kyla did another Highland Fling for us all to enjoy. The assembly was rounded off by Alex and Daniel who played 'Scotland The Brave' on the guitar and piano.
The children all did very well and we would like to thank them for volunteering to take part in the assembly.
