Snow Day Wednesday 8th December

THE CHRISTMAS FAIR IS CANCELLED FOR TONIGHT! NEW DATE WILL BE ANNOUNCED!

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the weather again after being backk to 'normal' this week!

Please find below some work for some classes that has been posted by the teachers. We hope that you will try to do some of these activities as it is important to keep working.

Christmas Fair and School Calendars

PLEASE NOTE:
School Calendars: 2011
Orders for calendars must be into school by Thursday 9^th December at the latest if these are to be ready in time for the end of term.

The SSA Christmas Fair will go ahead as planned on WEDNESDAY 8^th DECEMBER between 4.00 – 5.30pm.  However, if conditions take a turn for the worse it may have to be cancelled at short notice!
The SSA would like to ask for donations of items for the Christmas Fair.
Lucky Dip: Prizes for boys or girls wrapped or in a food bag.
Raffle: We hope to make up some hampers as prizes for the raffle. Any items you feel would be suitable to be included in a hamper should be handed in to the school at any time between now and the fair.
SSA Stall: The SSA will also have a stall and they would be delighted to receive donations of any art or craft items that could be sold on the stall. Items can be handed in to the office from now on until the day of the fair.

We realise that certain activities may prove difficult to put on at short notice and the committee will make decisions about individual things on the day of the fair.

Yet Another Snow Day!

Good morning everyone! Well, here we are AGAIN! This is getting very tiresome and we are desperate to get back to school! Yesterday we went down to 140 hits on the blog site! But hopefully that means that everyone logged on to get some work to do for the day!

As you can see from the photo I have been growing some large icicles in my garden! I keep trying to get them off from the drainpipes without breaking them but it is difficult!

We have a lot of new work for you to do today! You can see the links below for each class. There is also an activity for EVERYONE. You do not need to do it today but you may be able to get started with planning what you are going to do!

Snow Day Fun!

Well, here we are again! Another day of terrible weather and road conditions! All the teachers are desperate to get back and do not like being off school for so long!

Today was the busiest day we have ever had on the blog site! We had over 320 hits on the site so some of you must have kept checking to see what you had to do!

We hope that you managed to do some of the work there. The teachers have asked that you continue with the activites set and that you go over your reading and spellings also!

You should continue to...

a. Go over your reading and try and read some stories about the weather in the newspaper!

b. Do your spelling - go over the words and test yourself. If you have brothers and sisters there they can help you and you can help them!

c. Try to make a list of some of the things you have done this week in the snow!

d. Our Christmas Fair is next week. You need to keep thinking about what we need to do for that!

e. If you got out your song words for the Christmas Service you could start to learn them off by heart. That woul dbe a huge help! Mrs Gibb says thenursery pupils should have their words also!

We do not know what the situation will be for Friday. We will constantly review the conditions and the weather and make a decision on Thursday night or ealry Friday morning. We have an activity lined up for tomorrow if required!

In the meantime work hard and keep your fingers crossed!

Snow Day Work Wednesday 1st December

Please find below links to work for each of the classes in the school. We are very sorry for the issues the weather is causing. It is very frustrating for all of us....especially in the run up to Christmas.

The work is there for all pupils to access and may be spread over a couple of days - as we do not know how things are going to work out regarding the weather. We have heard reports from the police that the conditions are very bad in the Mintlaw area and if it turns very icy then it may cause all sorts of problems.

We really hope to be back to normal as soon as possible - but at the moment we have ensure we do not put people at risk by having to travel in such poor conditions.

Pupils should continue to read their reading books, work on any spellings and use all oportunities to use number in everyday situations. The files below are labelled for each class.....even the nursery!

We hope to see everyone back to school very soon.
