GET SET FOR RIO CHALLENGE!

As part of the build up to the Olympic Games in Rio in the summer a 'Get Set for Rio' challenge has been set! We are being challenged to get the children to cover the distance from here to Rio between now and the start of the games!

Every physical activity they do could be logged and uploaded to a special online record and this tracks the kilometres we have covered! When we enter the activity, the time it was done for and the number of people who did it it calculates the equivalent distance traveled by the group by doing it. This gets added to our total...and hopefully by the end of session we can have made it to the 10,000Km needed to get from here to Rio!

Classes will all have record sheets they can fill in and these will be uploaded to the website to track our progress.

So....can we meet the challenge and 'Be Set for Rio' this year?

Our pupils are all SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS....in AND out of school!

 

We are setting out on an activity to gather information about the learning and wider achievements of our pupils that takes place OUT OF SCHOOL!

Our pupils spend only 6 hours everyday in school.....a small part of their day and week. We realise that a huge amount of learning and the development of skills takes place out of school at home, by attending clubs and goups and by activities they are learning about at home.

 

We are sending a letter home with a sheet attached so that you can work with your child to fill it in so that we can start to keep a record of their out of school achievements and learning. You can add any information you feel is relevant for your child....and don't think anything is not worth putting down!

We are looking forward to seeing the wide range of activites and achievements that our pupils have been involved in.
