A group of pupils from the school were invited along to the local Co-op store on Thursday 31st March to officially open the newly refurbished store. Four of the house captains from Pr 7 were joined by a pupil from each of the classes in the school for the trip. The pupils were picked at random to represent the school.
The weather was not great and the rain was pouring down as we were getting ready to go along to the Co-op. We would like to thank the Mormond Hotel for coming along with their mini-bus to pick us up from the school to take us along to the shop.
Once there the pupils waited for the 'official' ceremony! A photographer was there to record the event for the local press and a lovely ribbon was placed across one of the aisles and the pupils prepared to cut the ribbon! Henry was given the honour and duly opened the store!
The manager kindly presented each pupil with a 'goody bag' to take away with them and a helium ballon for each of them! On w windy, wet morning the thought of getting 8 helium ballons safely back to school was a bit of a thought! Mrs Capmbell came to the recuse and took them back to the school in her car.
The Co-op have made a donation to the school for coming along to open the store and we would like to thank them for this kind gesture. We will use the money to buy some new equipment for the playground for the summer term.
