P7 Rugby Trip - Scotland v Samoa

Barring a sudden change in the weather the rugby will go ahead as normal tomorrow. Miss Crawford and Miss Stephen will meet those going outside the Richard Donald Stand at 1.45. Please ensure that the children have plenty of layers to keep them warm. It would be helpfulif they had any snack with them that they think they might need.

After the match you should meet at the same place where you dropped the children off. If yu could be there just after 4pm it would be most helpful so that staff do not have to wait for a long time after the match.

We will place a message on the information line tomorrow to update the situation at 11.00am.

If you will not be able to make the game tomorrow please leave a comment on the blog site so that we can be aware of the situation.

Lovely Recipes!

Welcome to our new blog.  This one is very different to the last one.  The children’s challenge was to learn about writing instructions using a recipe and because of the time of year we decided to write a witch’s recipe for her cauldron.  The boys set to this task with great gusto (as you would imagine) and everyone’s imaginations were in overdrive!  However, they all know about the layout of a recipe now!  Take it all with a pinch of salt please!!  Enjoy!!

Deserts and Jungles - Primary 6

Primary 5 - Mary Queen of Scots

This week we have been making a display of the family tree of Mary Queen of Scots.

We began by making detailed line drawings of leaves. Using the shapes we created in these drawings, we then drew these images onto coloured and patterened paper and cut them out to be collaged to make a tree.

To make the trunk of our tree we ventured outside and took rubbings from the trees around our school to be cut down and stuck on to our tree trunk.

Once we had created our tree we then researched Mary Queen of Scots family on the internet and in books. We used these facts to complete our beautiful display.

What we think of our display?
Daniel said he enjoyed cutting out and drawing.

Scott said he liked sticking down the leaves.

Scott said that he liked his leaf and put a lot of detail into it.

Nicola added that we added leaves from outside as well.

Nathan liked going outside to do the tree rubbings, but thought it was quite difficult.

They all thought it looked very good!
