Pr 3/4 and Mrs Veitch held a very successful coffee morning recently and managed to raise £447.93 for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity. The event was a great success and we were delighted to have som many people come along and join in the fun. t was a great event for the children to help organise and they did a great job. Well done Primary 3/4!
Coffee Morning
We arrived at school this morning. Mrs Veitch talked about the Coffee Morning to us. Then we were put with a partner and Mrs Veitch handed out the money boxes.
People started to arrive at 10 o’clock to the Coffee Morning. We started to do the games and selling cards. I was asking people if they would like to buy stuff out of the Christmas catalogue and after that I was selling the cards with Jemma.
People stayed until ten past eleven then we had something to eat. After that we had to lay by all the tables, chairs and games.
Mrs Veitch and Madison counted the money and then the whole class counted the coffee beans. Kieran’s childminder won.
We had a great time.

Coffee Morning Report
At the start of this I thought that it was impossible. Well for the truth I didn’t think that anyone could do it but in the end everything turned out fine. We got juice and a biscuit then when we came back in the class everything was a big, big, big mess.

The Coffee Morning
Hi, I’m Kim from the Coffee Morning in P3/4. The day before the Coffee Morning we had to go on the carpet to discuss what everyone had to do. I had to walk around the tables making sure that everyone was ok and I also made sure that they were comfortable. They were because most of them were doing wordsearches and spot the difference. They thought it was quite hard especially the wordsearches. There were also Play your Cards Right and Guess the Coffee Beans in the Jar. It was quite hard to guess how many coffee beans were in the jar.

Coffee Morning
In the morning we went in the corner to get ready and I was playing Play Your Cards Right with Calum and we had halfs. After I finished playing Play Your Cards right I was going round the classroom asking, “Do you want a cup of tea or coffee and some biscuits?” When they were done with their cups I tidied them away and put them in the bin. When I was tidying other people were playing Play your Cards Right so I took a go and I won but you don’t win anything. It is a pound for five goes and twenty five p for a go. If you pay a pound and you win you get your pound back. So I got my pound back. You don’t know my name, my name is Oscar and after the Coffee Morning we got all the biscuits and juice but not tea or coffee.

Then I saw there was a game called “Guess the number of coffee beans” and there was a game called “Play called “Play your cards right”. I was welcoming people.

On Tuesday Mrs Veitch told us that we were part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. So we were speaking about it and then Mrs Veitch said, “Boys and girls there are some games I want to show you.” There was Spot the difference, Play your cards right and wordsearches. I forgot to tell you my job, I was selling cards and gift bags. So that is all I have to tell you. Wait! We had Guess the coffee beans in the jar. So that is the end and I really enjoyed it.

When the Coffee Morning began we did Guess how many coffee beans in the jar. Nobody guessed sot on but Kieran’s childminder guessed 1988. There were actually 1984. There was a Christmas catalogue. Me and Stuart were selling the cards in it. We sold a lot and it was easier than I thought. Next I was at the door with Callum. Not so fun!

P3/4 Coffee Morning
At the start of the Coffee Morning we started with the preparations then the tables. We got everybody at their places and then Mr Veitch came in. After that people started to come in then we started the Coffee Morning. It was very scary because me and Scott had to go round everybody. First we went to my dad. He took 75p for 3 goes of Guess the number of coffee beans in the jar. I said “Oh no” when we went to my dad but there were different games than just that. There was Play the cards right, wordsearches, Spot the difference, all sorts of things. But the most important thing was you had to count the money.

Coffee Morning Report
When it was the Coffee Morning it was hard. Me and James were in charge of the M&S job. The Coffee morning was full of people e and James were having a struggle because all the people were in a big pile so I said to James, “Just say excuse me.” He said, “OK!” but he kind of pushed in. James dragged me to the customer! We said with a smile, “Would you like to buy a square?” He said, “Yes” but then he said, “What is the prize?”
I said, “£1000 voucher.” He said, “Oooh!” So he bought a square. I think we had over 10 people buying the squares. It was half past ten so I had to swop jobs. My next ob was wordsearches but there were only 7 then and when I was there only 3 people bought wordsearches. I was bored so I counted the money. Then at the end I got two swiss rolls. The Coffee Morning was fun.

The Coffee Morning
Hi I’m Stephanie from P3/4 in Strichen School. I’m doing a report on our Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support. Trying hard we were. We all had a job and no BREAKS! Sot the Difference stall I was on but now I will tell you the whole story. It all began when about the Monday before the Coffee morning Mrs Veitch gathered us all on the carpet and told us we would take part in The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Each and every one of us said, “WOW!” Next day I came to school with lots and lots of Spot the Difference sheets and a donated prize. A day before the Coffee Morning we organised the other games. We came up with Play Your Cards Right, Spot the Difference, a wordsearch and Guess the Number of Beans in the jar. And that was it but then the fantastic Jemma’s Granny made Happiness Kits, all sorts of cards and really cool bracelets. That wasn’t all – twenty people were waiting outside because the room was full up. Luckily there was no mis-behaving but the best thing was we all had fun. We made an amazing amount of money - £430. I did not count the total amount. It was Madison and Lia from my class. The good thing is we’ve said, “Thank You” to Linda, Mrs Ironside, my Mum, Jack’s Mum, Amy, Mr and Mrs Veitch, Mrs Campbell and the Tesco Manager.

The Coffee Morning
Today we ran the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. We had more people than kids. It was quite busy. There were games like Play Your Cards Right, Spot the Difference, Wordsearches. All of us were amazed by how much money we made today. Even the Headteacher was surprised. There were cards of all sorts and little gift bags red, white and blue. People really liked their tea and coffee with their biscuits. The time went by way too quickly today.

Preparing for the Coffee Morning
We were getting ready for the morning and we all went to the corner.. Mrs veitch asked if we had any ideas. So Stephanie put her hand up and said she would make some Spot the Difference. We did Play Your Cards Right and Guess the Number of Coffee Beans. There was a chance to win £1000 worth of M&S vouchers.
On the day of the Coffee Morning at the start a couple of people came in then a lot of people and because the room was so full people were in the hallway. Then the morning was finished so we got a snack and some juice and we raised £430.

The Coffee Morning
Before the Coffee Morning when I first came in the door, the first thing I saw was all the stalls. In my head I said, “Wow, that is amazing!” When we started to get ready I saw where I was going to be working and there were goodie bags and cards. I was working with Jemma and Findlay. When it started we didn’t have many people coming to our stall. But just then loads of people came to see what we were selling. After I did that job I had to work with Kieran doing the grid game. This is how you play it. You have some squares and you have to get people to write their names on it and the winner gets £1000 of M&S vouchers and runners-up get M&S vouchers as well. Soon my Mum came with my sister Ailidh and when everyone left we had some biscuits. We raised £430 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Coffee Morning Report
Twenty first of September, Strichen School P3/4 Coffee Morning! We spent about one week organising it. First we sat in the corner thinking about what games we were going to be doing…. Oh yeah I remember what I was going to say first. The Coffee Morning was sort of split into two because one of my jobs was from ten o’clock until half past ten and my other job was from half past ten until eleven o’clock.
