SSA Bingo Night

The SSA Bingo Night which was cancelled last week due to the weather will now take place on FRIDAY 12th MARCH in the Royal British Legion Hall at 7.30pm. Due to licensing laws NO UNDER 16's are allowed to come to this event.

Sharing School News and Events

We are delighted that our new large screen TV is now up and running in the main corridor. This will provide us with a far better way of sharing news and what is going on in the school with everyone. Previously we displayed photos on a small screen in the school entry area but this was not really accessible to the pupils and very few parents saw it as they usualy enter by the pupil door. The new TV is situated in the centre of the main corridor and will be seen by everyone every day. We look forward to developing this new feature and hope that people will see it as a valuable addition to the school. It can also be used to show TV programmes and DVD's and so I am sure we will have groups sitting on the steps watching the TV!!

Retirement!

Today (Friday 26th February) is the last day that Mrs pat Ingram will be working in the canteen as she is retiring at the end of the day. Pat has worked in the canteen foir 20 years and has helped to prepare thousands and thousands of school meals for Strichen, New Pitsligo and Kininmonth. We all hope that she will have a great retirement and will b e able to do all the things she has never had time for.

She was presented with a cake, flowers and a cheque from the staff and the SSA and also gifts from her colleagues in the kitchen and the DSO. We would like to thank Pat for her hard work over the years for the children of Strichen.

SSA BINGO NIGHT

Please note that tonight's SSA BINGO NIGHT has been cancelled due tothe weather. We hope that we will be able to get a new date organised for this event very soon.

The snow continues to be a problem and we hope that school will be back to normal on Monday once again.

At this moment we are still not sure what the weather situation will be tomorrow. We hope that we will be open as normal. The SSA Bingo Night takes place tomorrow night and we hope that it will still go ahead. Can we alert people to the fact that under 16's ARE NOT able to attend this event due to the British Legion's Licence.

Help for Haiti

Today we had a dress as you please day to raise money for the children of Haiti. I was reading the First News which is a newspaper that comes to our school, when I came across how your school could raise money for Haiti. I then asked my mum if it would be a good idea to ask my teacher, Miss Clark. She said it would be a great idea! So on Tuesday I went into school and asked Miss Clark. It was a yes! The next day at lunch I wrote a letter for everyone at home. 

 

When the day came most people had come dressed in their own casual clothes and had brought in a donation. We have raised almost £300. That is an amazing amount! Thank you for your support.

 

There are loads more things you can do to help Haiti so if you are thinking of raising some money I definitely recommend it, it’s amazing what you can do!

Still snow on the ground! Primary 4 have been out making sure there is food for the birds in the bird feeders in the Secret garden.
