Primary 5 have been enjoying an active approach to learning their spelling and times tables, these activities have also been helping them to co-operate in a small group.
Maths: “active times tables"
Hoops game: we have to multiply the numbers our beanbags land on.
answer wins a letter to spell fingers. First one to spell fingers is the winner.
Draw a beetle: each body part of the beetle is a different times table and we use a dice to decide what to multiply it by. The first person to draw a beetle is the winner.
Active spellings:
Each person has to pass the ball and say the next letter in the word as they do until the word is complete.
“Where is it written?”
We have to try and find our spelling words in books and record where we find them.
Keep up the active learning Primary 5! Great work!
