New Photo Albums

Please note that some new photo albums have been uploaded. Some of the photos taken by Class 6 on their walk round Victorian Strichen and Class 3's visit to the Loch of Strathbeg are newly uploaded. You can also look at how class 4 got on making their 'Balloon Buggies' as part of the Buchan Science Festival week. Liz Robertson visited the school for the day and worked with three classes and they all had great fun.

Class 3 Visit to the Loch of Strathbeg

Last week Class 3 went to the Loch of Strathbeg to find out all about mini-beasts. This is a report by some of the pupils about their day.

First we went to the guest room and dropped off our bags. Then we went to the garden and looked under logs for minibeasts and found  lots of  them. Nichola then took us pond dipping with big big nets. Nichola gave us a pair of binoculars and said to go in the bus. Nichola took us to the hide to look for lots of birds. After all the activities were finished we went back to the bus and we went back to school. We had great fun and learned a lot.

Buchan Area Sports

Our school entered a team in the Buchan Area Sports in September. They were held at Longside School and our team was made up of P5,6 and 7 pupils. We took part in 5 events-the 80 metres, the 200 metres, the 600 metres, the long jump and the shot putt. Mintlaw came 1^st, Stuartfield came 2^nd and Longside came 3^rd. Sadly we didn’t get in the top 3 but we did our best – but it’s the taking part that counts. Overall we had lots of fun and were glad to get a rest on the bus on the way home.
